TRY THE TEST

We went street witnessing in Springfield, Missouri Friday night at Park Central Square and the surrounding area.  We passed out gospel tracts, witnessed one-2-one and open-air preached.  There were six of us out tonight.

When I arrived, Michael was talking with three teenage boys named Jared, Raymond and Caleb on their bicycles.  Michael said we would give them a stuffed animal if they would volunteer to take our GOOD PERSON TEST.  Jared volunteered.  We went through the law and the gospel with them.  They were receptive.  Please pray for them.

We walked around downtown, as well as to the bus station.  We were giving out various gospel tracts, the Million Dollar Bills, the Santa Clause $50,000 Bill, Gospels of John, and a few others.  Quite a few people at the bus station took the material and were reading it.

I open-air preached at the square.  First we asked Christmas trivia questions and gave away stuffed animals for the right answers.  Then I asked for a volunteer to go through the Good Person Test.   John volunteered.  John admitted to being a lying, thieving, blasphemous adulterer-at-heart, and on the Day of Judgment he will be guilty before God.  He admitted that he would be on his way to hell.

The Bible says that all liars will have their place in the Lake of Fire, that no thief or adulterer will enter into the Kingdom of God, and that the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.  I asked John that  if there is a guilty criminal standing before a judge in a court of law and the fine is either $100,000 or life in prison, where would you go if you didn't have any money?  Life in prison.  However, if someone came up and paid your $100,000 fine then you are free to leave.  Your debt to the law has been satisfied.

In the same way, we broke God's Law and Jesus paid our fine.  The Bible says that unless a man is born-again he cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven.  We must repent of our sins (turn from our sins) and trust in Christ (believe) in Him for salvation.  "God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance".  "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life".

John said that he would think about what we talked about tonight.  We gave him a stuffed animal for his participation and he left.  Please pray for John.

We continued walking around downtown.  We came across a very nice young lady named Melissa.  Melissa said she had been drinking tonight, but wanted to talk to us and find out what we stood for and what we were saying.  We took her through the Law and the gospel.  She said she grew up in church and knew the Bible.  She appeared to be very convicted.  We could sense the Holy Spirit in our conversation.  We spoke to her for roughly 30 minutes.  Please keep Melissa in your prayers.

We had a very fruitful night of witnessing.  We thank God for opening up the door and showing us favor to folks while we were out.  We pray that each person that received a gospel tract or that heard us witnessing will be convicted and repent from their sins and trust in Christ for forgiveness of sins and salvation.
