Maple Leaf Festival 2010

Maple Leaf Festival
Carthage, MO

TRY THE TEST

Today we went to Carthage, MO, to the Maple Leaf Festival.  This event is said to draw 80,000-85,000 visitors during the week long (or so) festival.

Coming out today, was Chris (from my church) and Teresa, with Royal Pathways Ministry. Teresa had come out early this morning to set up her "Prayer Station". This is a good way to draw those who are interested in spiritual things to you. They may come for prayer, they may come up and just ask who you are with, or they may just come up to debate you because you are basically drawing a line in the sand. This is not only a good way to pray for folks, it's a way to ask how they are with God, then witness to them, give away free items they may need to study - bibles, CD's, Christian growth booklets, etc.

Earlier in the day, Greg Marlin, with Born of Him Ministries came out with some of his team and other Christians and walked in the Maple Leaf Parade. They gave out a bunch of gospel tracts. Here is a picture of us with a couple of Greg's team.

I was also able to get up and open air preach. We did a short time of asking trivia questions and giving away stuffed animals for correct answers, which draws a crowd, then we had Mary Lou volunteer to take the "Good Person Test", to see if she was good enough to go to heaven.

Mary Lou admitted to be a a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. Which, if you think about it, we are all guilty of these things. The Bible says that all liars will have their place in the lake of fire, that no thief or adulterer will enter the kingdom of God, and that the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

We will all be guilty before God on Judgment Day. There is only one way to go to heaven - we must be born-again. To be born-again, we must repent and believe in Jesus. Trust in Jesus.

After the open air preaching and breaking down the Prayer Station, we decided to walk around and pass out gospel tracts.

We not only passed out tracts and witnessed to people, we encouraged other Christians to share their faith.  There were some Christians who came up to us and asked what we were doing and where we bought our tracts.  We always encourage other Christians to share their faith.

We had a very good time out, witnessing and passing out gospel tracts.  Pray for those who received a tract and/or heard the good news today.

If you are a Christian, I pray this encourages you to get out and share your faith...like Jesus commanded us to do.  ;-)
